My son and I were lucky enough to be invited to see the wonderful new Christmas play at
Lakeside Arts Centre in Nottingham.
A Christmas Carol is a brand new adaptation of the Charles Dickens' classic, written especially for the Lakeside. It is a wonderful play and the story itself incorporates the original in a modern day style but with a classic twist.
The actors were brilliant and brought the story to life, even with multiple characters each it kept on flowing wonderfully, it was a story for both younger children and adults with special affects to wow the children and a story line everyone knows.
Special effects made for a wonderful experience, although I won't spoilt it by telling you what, there was so much to see and the entire stage was filled even with just the three actors.
Although we often have coffee at the Lakeside, I have never been in to the theatre itself before. It's not a big theatre but that makes it more intimate and you are so close the action, I loved it.
Being the Lakeside there is so much to do before and after the play, with the wonderful creations in the Gallery and then the park and lake outside so it is a really lovely day out.
Here are just a few of the fabulous creations in the Gallery, all from A Christmas Carol.
