These s'mores are super easy to make, all you need are a few chocolate digestives and some marshmallows, pop them on the bbq for several minutes each side and you have yourself some gooey yumminess. Perfect with a mug of hot chocolate and maybe a few more marshmallows.
Afterwards we listened to the skylarks that fly above the field behind us and looked for bugs in the in the garden, we planted some seeds and played with the hoola hoop, it was simple and yet made up for the fact we hadn't been anywhere.
We while away many hours in the garden like this and when summer hopefully makes an appearance there will be even more hours to fill with time in the garden and outdoors, we love to take walks in the field behind us picking up some treasures on the way.
What do you do in your garden that makes you love the simple things?
We love picking leaves and twigs to make garden collages.
ReplyDeleteIt is so simple and yet so wonderful isn't it, a great pastime
DeleteLove it! Sounds like a totally perfect day. Everything tastes better outdoors and I'm all for not waiting for the sun- just get out there and enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteDoesn't it just, I love being outside now, I went through a faze but I think i've found the outdoor bug again
DeleteOh that is so sweet! I might need to try this with my girls now that they are older.
ReplyDeleteIt's a lovely way to get them outside, the promise of hot chocolate and a biscuit ;)
DeleteSounds like the perfect day, we love s'mores!!!
ReplyDeleteLovely aren't they, the kids love them now and to be honest so do i.
DeleteThose biscuits look scrummy! WE love the garden, the kids are always out there on the trampoline but now have a new playhouse/climbing frame for this year :) x
ReplyDeleteOh we are desperate to get the kids a playhouse, its on our list and I think would make the garden perfect.
DeleteWe need to get out and get the garden sorted before we can enjoy being out there, relaxing. There's so much to do I've been avoiding going out!
ReplyDeleteIt's hard isn't it, we used to have a garden like that.
DeleteI agree, sometimes you just need to wind down and spent time with the family. I will be giving those S'mores a go
ReplyDeleteIt is nice isn't it, I always try to get us out somewhere but this was perfect.
DeleteWe love a picnic in the garden - so easy to do yet makes a meal much more fun!
ReplyDeleteChuck a blanket on the grass and stick some nibbles on it what more can you ask for, its the best isn't it.
DeleteIt looks like you had a lot of fun, we are lucky to live in 220 acres, so walking and exploring is our favourite thing. Mich x
ReplyDeleteWe love making s'mores too, I agree its nice to kick back a bit sometimes, we just had a very busy weekend at Legoland and Kidzania so next weekend, I might opt for the slower pace of life :) x
ReplyDeleteI would love to spend hours in the garden, we do try but Grayson finds it very upsetting. But agreed it is a fun place, I love to listen to the world around us, I love the idea of a disposable BBQ for smores xx
ReplyDeleteOh Ellie what a wonderful post and such gorgeous photos too. Sometimes the simple things really are the best aren't they, they're often not little to the kids too and that's what's important. Hope you're all good xxx
