Keeping Feet Warm with Morlands Glastonbury - Review

When I was given the opportunity to try out some gorgeous sheepskin slippers from Morlands Glastonbury I jumped at the chance. I hate nothing more in this world than cold feet and as Autumn rolled in so quickly, they couldn't have arrived at a more perfect time.

With several classic and modern designs there is a slipper for all tastes and for me I chose these gorgeous classic loafers in chestnut. Coming up a smidgen small I had to opt for a 9 instead of my usual 8, so this is something to bare in mind.

With non slip bottoms they are perfect whether you have wooden, tiled floors or carpet, since we have a bit of everything they are great for me to wear around our house.

I adore the classic chestnut colour however they also come in mocha, navy and taupe, all beautiful colours and something for everyone. They have some other classic styles, shapes and patterns too, including ballerina, backless and leopard print.

For me though I love the loafers, they look lovely with jeans and are just the perfect modern slipper, with that snuggly sheepskin to keep my feet warm on those cold winter mornings.

They also do the most snuggly looking boots and some beautiful accessories such as gloves and scarves.

These slippers cost £64, which for sheepskin is about what i'd expect. They are an investment piece and not something that will last you a few months and then fall apart, with sturdy bottoms they support your feet and could be worn out of the house too.

I absolutely adore these slippers, so much so I took them with me on holiday, they were the great accessory for our cabin in the woods.

I think these would make a brilliant Christmas present as they come in a gorgeous classic green box, and the slippers arrive in dust covers and with a shoe horn.

Morlands Glastonbury have been making classic items for over 150 years, so their knowledge and experience in creating beautiful well crafted pieces is second to none.

NB: I was sent these slippers to form this review, all words and opinions are my own.

A Beautiful British Brand

I recently came across this brand on twitter and instantly fell in love the with simple yet bright and colourful nature of their products, Fieldlife is a new lifestyle label for boys and girls aged 2-8 which offers British made clothing designed for children to live their life in, whatever their field.

The Spring/Summer 2014 range is inspired by a Day Trip to London and an exciting journey along the Thames riverbank with many adventures along the way.  Fieldlife aims to offer robust clothes that stand up to the rigours of childhood, from building dens and sandcastles, to climbing trees and making memories.

The collection includes a range of versatile separates such as T’s, sweatshirts, skirts, shorts and trousers to swimwear and rash vests for the beach or messing about on boats. Designed in bold and bright colours, thoughtful details such as adjustable waistbands in trousers and a double name tape in the label are also included so that the clothes can be handed down and become the next child’s favourite.

Inspired by her two young children, Kendra Marsh founded Fieldlife in 2013 with a view to combining her family and career, together with developing an idea to bring children's clothing manufacturing back to Britain.  Her mission is to create high quality clothes that not only look good but will stand up to all that children will throw at them and will become a child’s much loved piece of clothing.

I think it it is a fabulous range and could certainly see my children in them, whether it is playing in the park or a day out in the city this range fits in with everything and best of all it's 100% British.
Fieldlife is available to buy online from www.fieldlife.co.uk and from additional stockists Babyccino http://babyccinokids.com and From Britain With Love www.frombritainwithlove.com

Made in Britain - Winter Finds

If I am looking for something I usually ask Twitter, nothing like getting honest opinions from people.

This morning has seen me ask for slippers and on being pointed to a wonderful British business I decided to put together a small sample of some fabulous British business still making their goods here in blighty.

So first up is Celtic & Co, these were brought to my attention this morning and I am in love with everything on their site. Especially these House Boots they looks so comfy and we have old parquet floor that isn't warm in the slightest and I hate having cold feet.

Next up one for little girls, I adore this collection and Layla May have a wonderful Made in Britain philosophy that I love. When I had my business I always tried to support British businesses and one of my favourite was a local maker of clothes. Anyway I digress, I had to choose a favourite and I love this set so beautiful and I would like one for myself, I just love the trousers ;)

And it doesn't just stop at clothing, food, lovely British made food and produce. We always shop at our local farm shop for lovely local meats, vegetables, cheeses, honey and much more. Our most favourite find of late is this lovely Rape Seed Oil from Farringtons. It is on par in price with olive oil but tastes so much better. It can be bought from the supermarket so it doesn't mean trying to source it from specialist shops either.

We are so lucky to have so many fabulous wool producers in the UK, I love these throws from Laura's Loom the charcoal is gorgeous, so is the cream and the kingfisher, so many lovely colours to choose from! Bet they are super soft to snuggle up to as well.

And since I have a penchant for all things tea cup I love these sets from Sara Smith, they are divine and it is lovely to think you can still buy something this beautiful and British. We have always been known for our English Bone China and is good it can stay that way.

I think you'll agree we have some beautiful manufactures and companies still here in the UK and we should support them whenever we get the chance with great websites like makeitbritish.co.uk and www.stillmadeinbritain.co.uk it is easy to find products you are looking for.
